National Award-winning director Suman Ghosh is marking his Bollywood debut with Aadhaar and the teaser trailer of the Vineet Kumar starrer has been unveiled.
The film tells the story of a man called Pharsua as he scuffles through the system after enrolling for Aadhaar. The teaser trailer shows him getting his picture clicked for his Aadhaar card however, the government official tells him not to smile otherwise his picture will get rejected. Pharsua then innocently asks, “Sarkaar humko hanstey huey nahi dekh pa rahi hai ka?” thus, setting the premise of the social drama.
Set in Jharkhand, the film is inspired by Aadhaar, a 12-digit unique identity number that can be obtained voluntarily by residents of India. The data is collected by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), a statutory authority established in January 2009 by the Government of India. Aadhar is world’s largest biometric ID system. The film looks as interesting as the topic that the makers have chosen and now, we are eagerly waiting for its trailer.
Produced by Manish Mundra, the movie also stars Saurabh Shukla, Raghubir Yadav and Prrithvi and will premiere at the Busan International Film Festival 2019. It will hit the screens on December 6.
