After ruffling many feathers by saying that they will show the 'humane side of Ravana' in Adipurush, now Saif Ali Khan's latest web series Tandav has landed in legal trouble.

A case has been filed against the makers of the political drama and Amazon Prime Video on which the show is being streamed, in Uttar Pradesh for insulting Hindu Gods, promoting religious enmity and defiling a place of worship.

The case was filed soon after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sought a response from Amazon Prime on a complaint filed by Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam. The complaint has been filed at Lucknow's Hazratganj police station by a sub-inspector.

Director Ali Abaas Zafar, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and Aparna Purohit, who heads original content for Amazon India have been named in the FIR along with others.

After the case was registered, Shalabh Mani Tripathi, the media adviser of UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath tweeted that a case has been registered against the makers of Tandav for spreading hate.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the show stars Saif, Dimple Kapadia, Kritika Kamra, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeesha Ayyub among others.
