'Brahmastra' Scores The Biggest Opening Day In The Post-Pandemic Era; But Is Unlikely To Sustain

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy's fantasy adventure, Brahmastra, is off to a flying start at the box office. The film registered good occupancy on the first day despite boycott trends and Maharashtra, Gujrat, and Hyderabad scoring slightly low due to Ganpati Visarjan.Brahmastra Part One: Shiva grossed approximately 32.50 crore nett in Hindi, with the Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions grossing an additional 4.50-5 crore nett on its first day. With a nett gross of around 36.50-37 crore, Brahmastra has become the highest-opening Hindi film of the year as well as the highest opener since the pandemic.Now, coming back to the economics and word of mouth, the fate of Brahmastra doesn't look bright. With a budget of over 400 crore, the film must sustain for two weeks at least, which looks tough considering the mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The acid test will be on Monday, which will decide the destiny of Astraverse.
