Brahmastra has had a below-par first week total at the box office. The numbers are high for any Bollywood movie since the pandemic, but not satisfactory for a mega-budget film, which was supposed to do huge business after the weekend. The film has closed the first week at just above the 150 crore nett mark in the Hindi market.
The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer saw continuous drop on weekdays, which was expected after seeing the mixed reviews. It was the 3D versions that saved its neck from disastrous numbers (due to high ticket prices in the multiplexes), but that's what the film was supposed to do as it promised a big screen extravaganza.
Below are the day-wise figures of Brahmastra:
Friday - 31.50 crore
Saturday - 37.50 crore
Sunday - 39.50 crore
Monday - 14.50 crore
Tuesday - 11.25 crore
Wednesday - 9.50 crore
Thursday - 8.50 crore
Total - 152.25 crore nett (Hindi)
Dubbed versions - 19 crore
Grand Total - 171.25 crore nett
The film will have another single-digit total today, on its second Friday. Then, if there is a good jump in the collections on Saturday and Sunday, we can say that the film has made a respectable business. Brahmastra (Hindi) should cross the 170 crore nett mark by Sunday, and then the weekdays will decide whether it is going to cross the 250 crore nett mark or not.
