1. Deepika Padukone in Piku, Tamasha & Bajirao Mastani
Deepika Padukone made 2015 her year by giving her fans flavours as mixed as Piku, Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani. In Piku the actress was paired with thespians like Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan, but Deepika not only held her ground but also shone through.
In Tamasha Deepika was paired with a co-star with whom she has always delivered her best, Ranbir Kapoor. And, Deepika worked her magic once again in this quirky romantic drama by Imtiaz Ali.
And, with Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Bajirao Mastani, the diva not only just showcased her acting prowess, but also skills in handling action scenes.
2. Priyanka Chopra in Bajirao Mastani
Even though it was more of a supporting role, Priyanka showcased her acting range amazingly in Bajirao Mastani. She received rave reviews from the critics for her performance as Kashibai, and did not fail to leave her mark on the audiences.
3. Anushka Sharma in NH10
Anushka was the producer as well as the actress of NH10, and in both the roles she excelled. Anushka delivered one of the best performances of her career, so far, in this gripping revenge drama.
4. Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Kangana once again worked her magic this year by not only reprising her role from the 2011 hit film, Tanu Weds Manu but also adding to it a double role ka tadka! In the sequel Kangana played a double role- Kusum and Tanu. The film was not just a success at the box office, it also won Kangana some amazing reviews for her performance.
5. Kalki Koechlin in Margarita With A Straw
Kalki having a film where she doesn’t deliver a stellar performance- where have we ever heard that? In this film she plays a girl who has cerebral palsy. And, the actress did a wonderful job in getting the nuances of her character absolutely perfect. The film won the NETPAC Award for World or International Asian Film Premiere at 2014 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). And, Kalki won The Best Actress award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival held in Estonia in 2014.
6. Bhumi Pednekar in Dum Laga Ke Haisha
If there has been a newcomer in Bollywood this year who has managed to deliver a first-time hit, stay in headlines, and win hearts and accolades, it is Bhumi. She was a casting director with Yash Raj Films before she herself got this big break. And, she did full justice to this opportunity.
7. Radhika Apte in Hunterrr, Badlapur, Manjhi – The Mountain Man & everything else!
This has definitely been a year where Radhika has not only showcased her talent amazingly, but also managed to carve her space in the industry. Her releases of the year won Radhika applause from both audiences as well as critics. Even though she had small roles in Hunterrr and Badlapur, it was enough time for the talented actress to leave a mark. And, though Manjhi was an out-and-out Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s film to boost of, Radhika stood out quite brilliantly in it.
8. Shweta Tripathi in Masaan
Shweta Tripathi is definitely a gifted actor, and with Masaan she proved it as well. Her power-packed performance was enough to leave the critics wowed.
9. Richa Chadda in Masaan
Richa Chadda is one of the most talented actresses of Bollywood, who once again proved the same with her engaging performance in Masaan. She portrays a guilt-ridden woman who is coping to come to terms with a tragedy. Masaan won a standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival 2015, and its talented star cast is definitely one of the major reasons behind all praises.
10. Konkona Sen Sharma in Talvar
Konkona handled this controversial and sensitive film with a maturity that is a mark of a brilliant actress, as she essayed a challenging character based on Nupur Talwar, Arushi’s mother.

Pan Nalin‘s Angry Indian Goddesses left the critics wowed not only because of its script and direction, but also due to its talented multi-star cast. The movie is filled with some amazing performers like Sandhya Mridul, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sarah Jane Dias, Pavleen Gujral,Anushka Manchanda, Amrit Maghera and Rajshri Deshpande.
12. Tabu in Drishyam
Tabu came out really strong in the role as a hardened cop and a mother who is out seeking the truth behind her son’s disappearance; enough to make the critics rave about her performance.
13. Harshaali Malhotra in Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Think of it as an honourary mention, if you may, but this little girl left everyone awed in 2015 with her smile, her expressions and her say-it-all eyes. This child actress has all the marks of making it big in Bollywood someday as a leading lady. With her first film, she made it to the 100 crore club of Bollywood. And not to forget, the numerous Best Debutant Award nominations that she has already started receiving.
