Bipasha Basu in one helluva rattled woman. And it's a certain media buzz that's got her (celeb) goat. A recent tabloid report suggests that the bomb belle has much more than courteous links with politico Amar Singh. Basu, who's already whipped up headlines over her romantic break up with John Abraham, not to forget her alleged link ups with Rana Daggubati (Dum Maro Dum) and Josh Hartnett (Singularity) is incensed since she insists the voice in conversation with Singh isn't hers in the first place. By way of clarification and taking a generous potshot at the periodical in question, BB dashed off a "clarification statement" that goes thus:
Bipasha's statement
I have been besieged with calls from the media seeking my reaction to the publication of the tapes containing the alleged telephone conversation between Mr. Amar Singh and me. I have since heard the clip on the internet. I have never had any conversation with Mr. Amar Singh over the phone ever. The voice on the recording is certainly not mine. I dare say that my voice has distinct characteristics and the voice on the tape is completely different. I am appalled at the unjustifiable conclusion the female voice on the tape is mine merely because the person identified herself as "Bipasha". Nothing could be farther from the truth. More appalling is the fact that the tabloid has reportedly published a transcript of the tape in their English daily issue of 12th May 2011 under the heading 'Age Matters Between The Legs: Amar Singh to Bips' without making any effort to verify with me whether the voice in question was mine. This is irresponsible, mischievous reporting and is defamatory to say the least.
