Bipasha Basu, who is currently on a multi-city promotional tour for her forthcoming film Jodi Breakers, along with her team, has stated that she finds uncanny similarities between the character she plays in the rom-com and herself.
Briefing on her character, Basu said, "I play Sonali, one of the Jodi Breakers. I'm that kind of character who is quirky, independent, fun, smart and she is good at her job and that is why she is partner with Sid (played by R. Madhavan). She is good at her work. "
"She believes in love and marriage, yet she is a jodi breaker. She believes that two people need to be in a relationship, only for the sake of love and if love has flown out of the window then you need to separate because life gives you another chance to find your soul mate, one you can actually love and fall in love with. She is not the believer of that quintessential typical, the way you're brought up thinking, that love happens only once, she is not a believer of that," the dusky diva further added.
After elaborating on her on-screen character, the Bong bombshell said that Sonali is special to her, as she is similar to what the actress is in her real life.
"Everything that she believes in the film is something I believe in and also it's a very contemporary character of today. She is a girl who is working in a profession like me, at the same time she is fun loving, is very gregarious by nature, makes friends easily and laughs out loud without thinking. Her quirks are very much like mine, so in way I see my self in Sonali.
Jodi Breakers will see R. Madhavan opposite Bipasha for the very first time and the much anticipated rom-com will release on January 24, 2012.
