Bengali Beauty Turns A Year Older

Born to Bengali actress-filmmaker Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma made her debut as a child artist in the film Indira (1983). However, she first gained attention with the English-language film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002), which was directed by her mother, and Konkona received the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.

Following this, Konkona has acted in many critically acclaimed films with the few exceptions of commercial cinema like Page 3, Life In A Metro and Omkara. Apart from Hindi, Konkona has also acted in a lot of Bengali films.

In 2009, she appeared in the low-budget English-language film The President Is Coming, directed by Kunaal Roy Kapur of Delhi Belly fame, where her performance was again much appreciated. In 2010, Sen Sharma starred in Ashwani Dheer's comedy Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge opposite Ajay Devgn and Paresh Rawal. Her latest release was Neeraj Pathak's Right Yaaa Wrong where she played a lawyer.

Konkona Sen Sharma, who is married to actor Ranvir Shorey, recently turned a mother and her first child is named Haroon. On the occasion of her birthday, we wish the dusky Bengali beauty loads of professional and personal success.
