Marvellous Munim To Alluring Ambani?
When she sashayed into cinedom with her debut 'Des Pardes', Tina Munim was all of 21 ( born February 11, 1957), but the lissome girl could easily have passed off for 16!
Tina Munim, presently more renowned as Tina Ambani, was handpicked by filmmaker Dev Anand, no less, after she'd represented India at the International Teen Princess Contest in Aruba, going on to win in the 'Best Bikini' and 'Most Photogenic' category.
Tina was accorded a warm welcome by the industry and found herself making a popular pair with Rishi Kapoor, the romantic hero of the seventies and early eighties in movies such as 'Bade Dilwala', 'Karz', 'Aap Ke Deewane' and 'Yeh Vaada Raha'. Besides, she continued to be a part of Dev saab's subsequent films like 'Lootmaar' and 'Man Pasand'.
Tina was also featured in some interesting projects such as Basu Chatterjee's 'Baaton Baaton Mein' where she was cast opposite Amol Palekar and Rakesh Roshan's 'Aakhir Kyon?'. She also formed a hot pair with Rajesh Khanna, who she was romantically involved with for a while after she broke off with Sanjay Dutt. The ex phenomenon and Munim did many films together like 'Fifty Fifty', 'Souten' and 'Alag Alag'. But in the eighties, Tina decided to quit acting and headed westwards to the US to attend college. However, she returned in 1991 and married industrialist Anil Ambani. Together with two sons, the couple are a happy family today.
Far removed from films these days, Tina Ambani now earns the spotlight for the 'Harmony Art Show' that she holds every year and for her dedicated work with senior citizens.
