Veteran actress Surekha Sikri, who recently won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Ayushmann Khurrana-Sanya Malhotra starrer Badhaai Ho, is presently recuperating from a brain stroke.
The Balika Vadhu actress suffered from a brain stroke ten months ago while shooting in Mahabaleshwar. She fell down in her bathroom and hit her head. She hasn’t returned to work since then and is presently recuperating. The doctors have assured her that she would recover soon.
Talking about her big National Award win, the veteran said that she is very happy in her heart and has been meeting family and friends. Sikri had played the role of Khurrana’s grandmother in the movie. Badhaai Ho also won the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award at the 66th National Awards.
