Baaghi 4 Flops Badly:
The much-hyped Baaghi 4, starring Tiger Shroff alongside Sanjay Dutt, has turned out to be a big disappointment at the box office. Despite coming from an action franchise, the film has failed to impress either the audience or the ticket counters.
Cocktail 2 Begins With Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon & Rashmika Mandanna; Will This Match The Success of Saif Ali Khan’s Cocktail?
The film opened to a decent start with a first-week collection of around ₹40.25 crore. However, the momentum dropped sharply in the second week. As per trade site Box-office India, Baaghi 4 managed only ₹1 crore nett on second Friday, followed by ₹1.40 crore on second Saturday and ₹1.60 crore on second Sunday. This brought the film’s total to around ₹44 crore nett, and it is now heading for a lifetime collection of only ₹50 crore.
This makes Baaghi 4 the lowest-grossing film in the franchise. To put things in perspective, Baaghi (2016) had done ₹76 crore and was declared a hit. Baaghi 2 (2018) turned into a massive blockbuster with ₹166 crore, while Baaghi 3 (2020), despite the COVID-19 disruption, still managed a respectable ₹92 crore and was termed a semi-hit. Compared to these numbers, the fourth installment has fallen flat.
The failure of Baaghi 4 raises questions about the future of the franchise. Audiences seem to have grown tired of the repetitive action template, and even Tiger Shroff’s brand of high-octane stunts could not save the film this time. With Sanjay Dutt added to the cast, expectations were high, but the weak story and lack of freshness proved costly. The heroines, Harnaaz Sandhu and Sonam Bajwa, hardly pushed it anywhere. The casting, followed by writing, seems to have pulled the film down.
