It looks like Ayushmann Khurrana is having a dream run at the Box-office, after his streak of back to back hits and a National Award to his kitty, Ayushmann has yet again impressed the audience with his commendable performance in his latest release ‘Dream Girl’. The film has not only received good reviews from the critics and audience, but it has also done well at the Box-office. The film on its day one of its release has managed to make a collection of Rs. 10.05 crore. Over the weekend the film stood strong in numbers owing to its good word of mouth and collected Rs. 16.42 crore on Saturday and Rs. 18.1 crore on Sunday. After it’s roaring weekend at the box-office ‘Dream Girl’ has made a total collection of Rs. 44.57 crore on its first weekend. Which also marked Ayushmann’s biggest opening weekend till date at the box-office.
Ever since the poster launch to the trailer release, ‘Dream Girl has been creating a lot of Buzz, for its unique quirky-comedy storyline and now, that has definitely reflected in the film’s collection as well. The film narrates a story of a male caller played by Ayushmann, at a female friendship call center, who impresses everyone with his mesmerising female voice and unique ways of solving people’s problems by becoming Pooja.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Ashish Singh, ‘Dream Girl’ is directed by debut director, Raaj Shandilya. This film also stars Nushrat Bharucha, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Nidhi Bisht, Rajesh Sharma, Abhishek Banerjee and Raj Bhansali. It released on September 13 and is also expected to do a good business over the week, going by the film’s good word of mouth and unique quirky story line.
