Avatar Fire and Ash Box Underperforms:
James Cameron’s Avatar Fire and Ash has finally arrived in cinemas, and while the film has posted decent numbers, its opening is clearly lower than its predecessor Avatar The Way of Water. The third installment of the iconic sci-fi franchise has underperformed early industry projections, especially at the US box office.
In North America, Avatar: Fire and Ash opened with $88 million, which is around 35% lower than Avatar: The Way of Water, which had debuted with $134.1 million. The gap is significant and shows that the sequel did not generate the same level of opening-weekend urgency as the 2022 release.

Despite the drop, a $345 million global opening is still a good result by any standard and better than what most Hollywood films manage. In India also, Avatar 3 is down by almost 47% which is a huge fall for the franchise.

Many say that this one may not reach the $2 billion mark, but who knows...
