After taking the audiences back into history with Panipat, Ashutosh Gowariker is now making a film titled Karram Kurram on Indian women’s cooperative Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad, which is involved in manufacturing of fast moving consuming good and he has signed Kiara Advani to play the lead role.
The film revolves around a woman, who brought six housewives together to establish the cooperative, to sustain their household needs. However, it went on to establish a monopoly in the commercial papad market.
The film, that focuses on women empowerment, is being produced by Sunita Gowariker under their banner Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and is being directed by Glenn Baretto and Ankush Mohla, who have assisted Ashutosh in the past.
Meanwhile, Kiara is busy with Jug Jug Jeeyo, which is presently being shot in Chandigarh. However, the shoot has come to a halt because Varun, Neetu and Anil Kapoor have tested positive for coronavirus.
