Asha Bhosle Did 'Mai' For Her Mother

 When asked why she chose this particular film to make her debut, she said, "I did this film as we used to call our mother, Mai. We used to love her a lot and we still do. Had my mother not been there, you would not have heard Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, Hridaynath Mangeshkar or Asha Bhosle. It is because of her that we pursued music and singing. When I was told that  the film is called Mai, I was quite moved."

 

Starring Asha Bhosle, Ram Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure, Mai is a heart-rending tale about the most important bond in any of our lives; that which a child shares with a mother.

 

It is set to release on February 1, 2013.
