Sikandar: Salman Khan wanted to do a Korean film remake, but AR Murugadoss denied it

AR Murugadoss denied Korean remake with Salman Khan:

Sikandar marks the first-ever collaboration between Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and South filmmaker AR Murugadoss. As the film approaches its theatrical release on the Eid 2025 weekend, the filmmaker recalled his conversation with the Tiger 3 actor from the past when he wanted to do a remake of a Korean film. However, the Ghajini director denied Khan's idea and instead made Sikandar as an original film.  

"A few years later, he called me because he wanted to do a Korean film remake, and I said, 'I don't want to do it. If I want to do a film with you, it has to be something I want to write myself,'" said the director.

Before that, ARM met Salman during Holiday (2014). He recalled, "While making 'Holiday', I met Salman sir. We were shooting at Madh Island, and he was there for a courtesy visit. I went and said hello. Then I said, 'I want to make a film with you.' He replied, 'I want to do a film with you too.'" This meeting led to discussions about Sikandar later on.

Murugadoss developed the basic idea of the script during the pandemic and then approached the producers. When the idea was approved, Salman Khan came on board, and that's how Sikandar was made. Now, let's wait and see how the film fares at the box office and how people react to it. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, Anjini Dhawan, and others.
