Anurag Kashyap may have made good or not-so-good films but one thing that he has time and again done right is stick to the essence of his stories when it comes to the music. Again, it is a different matter of the music turns out to be popular or not. However, one can't accuse him of putting together a soundtrack that doesn't compliment a film's narrative.
This is pretty much turning out to be the case for Mukkabaaz as well which has just seen another song being unveiled, 'Mushkil Hai Apna Meil Priye'. If 'Paintra' had set the stage for what the film is all about, 'Mushkil Hai Apna Meil Priye' pretty much brings to screen the kind of romance that one can well expect in this dramatic affair that has boxing in the midst of it all.
The entire team
It is in fact interesting to see how the montage sequences play on well with 'Mushkil Hai Apna Meil Priye'. So while Vineet goes all out to woo his college going sweetheart, she reciprocates as well while being confident and pretty much breaking the stereotype of a shy small town girl. Even as the bitter-sweet moments play between the two, it is interesting to see how the villain of the piece, Jimmy Sheirgill, registers his strong presence and puts his weight behind the proceedings. The seasoned actor brings his two decades of experience well into play and ensures that even in his limited screen time, he throws a punch.
As for the surprise element, there is Nawazuddin Siddiqui who makes an appearance as well, hence making one nostalgic about 'Emotional Atyachar' (from Dev D) which had first brought him into limelight in an Anurag Kashyap directed flick.
With Aanand L. Rai and Eros backing the film, Mukkabaaz is set to arrive on 12th January.
