Anurag Basu Confirms Postponement of Kartik Aaryan & Sreeleela Musical Romance:

Fans awaiting the big-screen pairing of Kartik Aaryan and South sensation Sreeleela will have to wait a little longer, as director Anurag Basu has officially confirmed the postponement of their untitled film from its previously planned Diwali 2025 release.

Speaking about the production status, Basu revealed that only 40% of the film has been completed so far. The next shooting schedule is slated for August and September, but there’s a major continuity issue to address.

"Kartik is currently shooting for Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, where he has a distinct look. Our film requires him to be clean-shaven, and maintaining that visual consistency is essential," Basu explained.

Due to overlapping schedules and the commitment required for Kartik's ongoing project, the team has decided to delay the film to ensure quality and coherence. "He needs to wrap up his current film first. Only then, by month-end, we can finalize the next leg of our shoot," the director told MidDay.

The postponement may disappoint eager fans, but Basu assured that the delay will only enhance the film’s final impact. "It’s a special film, and we want to do complete justice to it," he concluded.

This makes way clear for fantasy horror comedy Thama, which is schedule to be released on Diwali 2025. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. The clash between two had become a talk of the town, but for now, it's averted.
