publive-imageSalman Khan and Aayush Sharma starrer Antim: The Final Truth was released in theatres yesterday and has taken a start at the box office. In the morning shows, the film opened to 15% to 20% occupancy but it progressed by the evening and picked up well. According to trade website Box Office India, Antim minted 4.75 crore nett at the domestic box office on its opening day. The official numbers from the producers are awaited, which could be a little different.

The Mahesh Manjrekar directorial has been released in over 2000 screens in India. It is facing competition from John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar's Satyameva Jayate 2 which released just a day before. But Antim's opening day figures are better than Satyameva Jayate 2. Additionally, SMJ2 is seeing a drop on day two whereas Antim is expected to grow higher.

The film has minimal growth on day two in the morning shows with Maharashtra contributing the major share. If it shows a good jump in occupancy by the evening then the second day figures will be 10-15% higher than the first day. The opening weekend can go over 20 crore which will be a fair amount considering the fact that it will take some time for Bollywood to come back on track. Sooryavanshi is still doing well but that was a big event film. For others these numbers means a lot.
