Their third outing together was Prakash Mehra's 1973 release Zanjeer. While Big B essayed the role of Inspector Vijay Khanna, Jaya Bachchan played the character of a street performer named Mala. 4. Abhimaan:

The real life couple played husband and wife in Hrishikesh Mukherjee's hit film Abhimaan (1973). When it was released, audiences found similarities between real-life couple Amitabh and Jaya and the couple they portrayed on-screen as Jaya's career was stronger than Big B's at the time.

5. Mili:

They shared screen space again in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1975 release Mili. Jaya Bachchan played Mili, a girl who suffers from pernicious anaemia in the movie, while Bachchan Senior essayed the role of her drunkard neighbour.

8. Silsila:

The duo played husband and wife in Yash Chopra's 1981 release Silsila, which also starred Rekha. The movie is said to be loosely inspired by the alleged real-life love triangle of its three lead stars.

After a sabbatical of two decades, they came together again for Karan Johar's superhit film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
