Animal Welfare Board of India Opens Online Permit For Film Producer; Reduces Fees —

The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) is now available online for the permits of animals' use in films and TV shows. Indian film producers can now apply online and get permission on AWBI's portal.

The head office of AWBI is in Gurgaon, and producers had to submit an offline application. The entire process was hectic and long, but now it will be more accessible and fast. This has come as a sign of relief for the production houses that have been worried about permits.

The decision was made after continuous efforts by the FICCI, CII, and IMPPA. The organisations were following up with AWBI and the ministry of I & B for a long time, and the benefits have now fallen where they are due. The AWBI has also reduced the fees for non-performing animals to Rs. 5,000.
