Riding high on the blockbuster success of her debut film Saiyaara (2025), actress Aneet Padda is set to begin filming her next major project, Shakti Shalini, in March 2026, industry sources confirm. Shakti Shalini is part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) — a popular franchise known for blending supernatural themes with humour and drama — first teased in the end credits of last year’s Thamma (2025), which featured a glimpse of the upcoming story’s lead.

According to Mid-Day, pre-production work on the film has largely wrapped up, allowing the shoot to kick off next month after an earlier January start was postponed to fine-tune preparations. Insiders describe the initial schedule as ambitious, hinting at an extensive shooting plan.

While producers have not formally disclosed all cast details, reports suggest Homebound (2025) actor Vishal Jethwa has reportedly joined the cast opposite Padda, reuniting the pair after their earlier collaboration in Salaam Venky.

Another key update from today’s reports is the involvement of director Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his work on Thamma and Munjya, who is expected to helm this latest MHCU entry, bringing continuity and vision to the expanding franchise.

Shakti Shalini is slated for Christmas 2026 release as of now. There are high chancea that the makers will move from the date, consider in the big clash with Marvel Studios' Avengers Doomsday and Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand's King.
