Coronavirus pandemic has globally shaken the world by spreading across approximately 140 countries around the globe. The novel coronavirus has infected around 1,81,500 people globally and killed over 7,100 people worldwide. COVID - 19 has now also entered India and has been found infecting around 147 people nationwide, with Maharashtra witnessing the highest number of COVID-19 positive patients. To contain the ramped pandemic, the government of Maharashtra has taken several strict measures to ensure adequate precautions are taken by the citizens. One of the latest initiative that has been started by the government of Maharashtra is to give a stamp on the hands of foreign travellers, who are returning back in Mumbai during the time of pandemic. The stamp which reads, 'Proud To Protect Mumbaikars HOME QUARENTINED' till March 30, 2020 is marked with the voters ink. The stamp is given to suspected people who could be exposed to COVID-19, owing to their travel history. The government stated, that after complaints were reported that people who are supposed to be in home quarantine were out in the public, they decided to start this practise at the Mumbai airport.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media to share a picture of what the home quarantine stamp started by the Maharashtra government looks like. He previously shared information with his fans about the COVID-19 disease, and the precautionary measures that one can take to be safe from it through a poem that he penned down. He has also called off his age old tradition of meeting fans on every Sunday, outside his Mumbai residence in Juhu, Jalsa. Big B has also been roped in by UNICEF and Indian Health Ministry to spread awareness about the disease. Amitabh Bachchan has been continuously urging fans to stay safe and and take the precautionary measures through videos, as prevention is always better than cure.
The actor tweeted a picture of a hand with 'Home Quarantined' stamp on it and wrote, "T 3473 - Stamping started on hands with voter ink, in Mumbai .. keep safe, be cautious, remain isolated if detected..,"

The Mumbai municipal corporation from its official Twitter handle thanked Mr. Bachchan for spreading the word on home quarantine and tweeted,

Meanwhile celebrities from around the globe across fields, are now coming together to use their power of voice to reach the masses as the weapon, to spread the precautionary measures for COVID-19. In the meantime WHO (World Health Organisation) has started a global campaign, where the body has asked high profile celebrities from around the globe to share a video of how to wash one's hands neatly to safeguard themselves from the virus. They have named it as the #SafeHandsChallenge. Hopefully more influential voices taking up this challenge from around the globe will help in spreading the precautionary measures, to fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.
