Amitabh Bachchan: 'Dadasaheb Phalke Award A Glorious, Much Deserved Tribute To Pran'

It was recently announced that veteran actor Pran will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, this year and on hearing this news, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to social networking sites to express his joy.

Bachchan, who has worked with Pran in films like Zanjeer, Don and Amar Akbar Anthony, praised his co-star and stated that the 93-year-old deserved the honour. “A glorious tribute to a great human and a large pillar of the Indian Film Industry .. PRAN..the Dada Saheb Phalke award by the state,” he posted on Twitter.

Taking to Facebook Big B wrote, “Pran saheb wins the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award... Much deserved... A true gentleman and a great friend... Wishing him continuous good health and many congratulations.”

“Pran saheb and I worked on many films together... A fine colleague to have on set, disciplined and punctual and most professional,” he further added.

Pran, who started his career with the 1945 release Yamla Jatt, has acted in over 400 movies in a career spanning over six decades.
