Not many know that before he became one of Bollywood's top directors, Anurag Basu had directed the super hit Balaji television show Koshish..Ek Asha.  Since then, the director has come a long way. His 2012 film Barfi! was appreciated across all quarters and was even selected for Busan International Film. Now he is preparing for Jagga Jasoos which features Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Recently, it was reported that the film has been delayed, which means Basu has a little time on his hands to indulge in his other interests.

Yesterday, he took to Twitter and said "Wish Fulfilled!ThankYou @EpicchannelIn Always wanted to adopt Tagore Stories For TV #Firstlook #StoriesByRabindranathTagore on Sat"   Basu will be recreating the magic of old Bengal through some of Tagore’s short stories and novels like 'Chokher Bali', 'Charulata' and 'Atithi'. This will air on the new historical channel name Epic. Clearly he is very thrilled about being given this opportunity and we think that he will definitely bring some freshness to the show.
