South actor Allu Arjun has returned to work just two days after the passing of his grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam. The Pushpa star, who lost his grandmother on Saturday, August 30, was back in Mumbai on September 1 to continue shooting for director Atlee’s ambitious sci-fi project, currently known by its working title AA22xA6.

On Monday, Arjun resumed filming at Chitrakoot Grounds in Andheri, making sure the 30-day schedule stayed on track. A source from the unit shared, “Arjun lost his grandmother on Saturday, August 30. The star performed the rituals and rushed back to Mumbai. The call sheets for this block were fixed months in advance, involving hundreds of technicians and actors, and he didn’t want to waste the crew’s time or cause delays.”

This leg of the shoot is said to be crucial, with Atlee planning to capture heavy-duty action scenes blended with dramatic confrontations. “International stunt coordinators are supervising the sequences and large-scale sets have been built for the same. Pushing things by even a few days would have led to additional costs,” a source told MidDay.

Despite the personal loss, Arjun’s decision to quickly return reflects his commitment to the project and the team. With big-budget action, elaborate sets, and international talent on board, the upcoming schedule is expected to play a key role in shaping the film’s larger-than-life narrative. AA22xA6 marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee, and expectations are already sky-high for this mega venture. Actress Deepika Padukone is currently on a break and will join the sets in November.
