Alia Bhatt To Collaborate With Dinesh Vijan For His Next Horror-Comedy

Alia Bhatt has certainly become every film makers favorite actress, and there is no doubt about the same. Alia who is currently working with all top talented directors and production houses of the industry, has reportedly given a nod to work in a Horror Comedy, which will be produced under Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, who has produced content driven films like Bala, Stree and Badlapur to name a few. Alia was recently clicked paying a visit at Maddock's office last week, post which it is believed, that she has given the script a nod and will sign on the dotted line in a few weeks. Reportedly Vijan has developed a horror-comedy universe, and Alia wanted to play a carefree- cheerful role, post portraying some intense characters in films like Gangubai Kathiawadi and Sadak 2. Thus when the actress heard the story, she immediately gave a nod for the same.

A statement made by a source close to the development reads,

“Alia was looking for a light-hearted role after playing intense characters back-to-back in her father Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. They are slated to release in July and September this year, respectively. Vijan’s film is a horror-comedy and sees her playing a breezy role. She liked what was narrated and okayed it verbally. The makers and Alia’s team are currently working on other modalities before she’s officially on board.”

The film is said to be directed by a debut director Yogesh Chandekar, who was one of the writers of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Andhadhun. Amar Kaushik, who directed Stree and Bala will be the creative producer of the film. This horror comedy flick is said to be going on floors from July 2020. However, an official statement regarding the same is still awaited from the makers.

Meanwhile Alia is currently working in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. She will next be seen with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in Ayan Mukherji's Brahmastra, which will release on December 4, 2020. The actress also has father Mahesh Bhatt's directorial film Sadak 2, which also stars her sister Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. She will also be seen in S. S. Rajamouli RRR.
