The trailer of Sadak 2 starring Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt is out. The film is a sequel of 1991's hit romantic thriller Sadak, which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles. The trailer opens with a cult classic scene from the prequel, starring the leads, thus the sequel is expected to pick up from where the original ended.
Sanjay Dutt's character remains the same in the film, where he is seen playing the character of Ravi, who from a taxi driver has now become the owner of a travel company. He lost the zest of living life due to demise of the love of his life Pooja, played by Pooja Bhatt, who is supposedly dead as shown in the trailer. Ravi somehow finds a meaning to his life when he bumps into the character of Aarya, played by Alia Bhatt. Aryaa is a young girl who is avenging the death of a close one, and wants to commence a trip to Kailash by hiring a taxi driven by Ravi. Aarya seems to be determined to dig out certain deep dark buried truths of her past, as she delivers a dialogue "In Fake Gurus (Godmen) ke wajah se mene kisi aapne ko khoya".
The duo is set out on a journey with a promise to unveil certain truths, and is on a quest filled with revenge and love. They first pick up Vishal, played by Aditya, who walks out of a prison. Vishal plays Aarya's love interest in the film, and after Kalank Alia reunites with Aditya and their chemistry looks convincing and romantic onscreen. Sanjay Dutt steals the show in the trailer with his intense acting along with Makrand Deshpande, who plays a Godman in the film. The film also stars actors like Gulshan Grover, Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose, Mohan Kapur and Akshay Anand. Sadak 2 has been extensively shot in South India's popular hill station Ooty and in Mumbai.
Sadak 2 marks Mahesh Bhatt's directorial comeback after a break of 21 years. It's also his first collaboration with his younger daughter Alia onscreen, who with Sadak 2 has joined hands for the first time with her home production banner, Mukesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films. The film is written by Mahesh Bhatt and Suhrita Sengupta, the additional dialogues are by Pushpdeep Bhardwaj. The music for the film is composed by Jeet Gannguli, Ankit Tiwari, Samidh Mukherjee, Urvi and Suniljeet. Sadak 2 is all set to premiere on August 28, 2020, only on Disney+ Hotstar.
