Victoria And Abdul, which stars Judi Dench and Ali Fazal in the titular roles, released in 10 territories over the weekend and the film earned $2.6 million in UK and has thus clenched the number two position at the UK box-office.

Victoria and Abdul was this week’s highest new entry and it recorded director Stephen Frears best ever release in UK. This is the highest box-office collection of a Hollywood film, which stars an Indian actor in the titular role.

Overwhelmed by the film's collection in the UK, an elated Ali said, "I just can't believe that the film has done better than such wonderful movies. The other films at the box office are movies with people I love and their work is genius. I am happy. We are second on the charts after 'It'."
