Ali Abbas Zafar Confirms To Make A Trilogy Of The Cult Classic Mr India

After much speculations about the remake of  the hit classic Mr. India with names of actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh, director Ali Abbas Zafar finally confirmed the same. The director finally made the announcement of Mr. India trilogy, which will be set in the superhero universe. The director will also write the script of the trilogy for which he has partnered with Zee Studios. Ali called it a huge responsibility to helm the reprised version of the iconic film, which will now be mounted as a big-budgeted film. The film is currently at the scripting stage, after which the final casting will be done. The film is expected to go on floors from next year.

Making the announcement on Twitter Ali wrote, "Excited to partner with @ZeeStudios_ for an epic trilogy #MrIndia! It is a huge responsibility to carry forward an iconic character loved by everyone. Currently, working on the script, no actor has been locked till now.  Once we lock the first draft of the script, casting begins!"

Recently taking about the film, Ali said,

"I have just commenced working on the script, no actor has been locked till now, once the first draft of the script is ready, we will begin the casting process. The film involves massive amounts of pre-production and will go on floor early next year,"

Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios said they are excited to have Ali on board for Mr India. and shared, "This not a 'part 2' or a remake of the older film as recently reported in some sections of the media, but a re-imagining of the iconic classic," Patel said.

The new Mr India, set in the contemporary superhero world, will be a re-imagination of 1987 cult classic Mr India's iconic characters, which were played by Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Amrish Puri.
