Akshay Kumar To Step Into Vijay's Shoes For 'Theri' Remake?

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who has been part of several South remakes, is keen on acquiring rights to remake the Tamil blockbuster Theri, which starred Vijay in the lead role.

Sources said that Akshay is keen to remake the film in Hindi under his production banner and has initiated talks to acquire the rights from the makers of the Tamil film. Reportedly, Akshay feels he fits in the lead role and is keen to play the cop in the film. From Rowdy Rathore to Gabbar Is Back, the action hero has starred in make South remakes and struck gold at the box office.

The Tamil film, which released in April this year, is a blockbuster. If the things work out, Akshay will step into Vijay's shoes for the third time after Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty and an upcoming remake of Kaththi.
