Akshay Kumar as a ruthless killer in Haiwaan:
Akshay Kumar is all set to take on a dark and intense role in Haiwaan, the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam hit Oppam. The film pairs him opposite Saif Ali Khan in what promises to be a gripping action-thriller with emotional depth and layered performances. Filming for Haiwaan is scheduled to begin in August.

In this remake, Saif Ali Khan plays the role of a visually impaired caretaker who is also a trained expert in Kalaripayattu, the ancient Indian martial art. His character is deeply rooted in discipline and has a strong sense of justice. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar — as a ruthless, cold-blooded killer seeking revenge for his family.

“While Saif plays a visually challenged caretaker who is an expert in Kalaripayattu, Akshay, the antagonist, will be seen as a ruthless, cold-blooded killer out to avenge his family. While distinctive, both actors will sport a moustache and stubble to give off a raw, rugged, and real vibe. [Actors for the] characters of a retired Supreme Court chief justice and his daughter are yet to be cast,” a source close to the production told Mid-Day.
