Akshay Kumar to play a Rowdy Rathore-type cop again

Recently, it has been confirmed by media reports that Akshay Kumar and director Milan Luthria are collaborating again after Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara (2013). After the previous attempt, these two are teaming up once more, and this time, it's an action drama. Akshay will be seen portraying a cop yet again.

Akshay Kumar has played a cop in many movies before, but the character that gained notable popularity recently was Rowdy Rathore (2012). According to a report in Mid-Day, the superstar will take on a similar role again in this upcoming action drama, which is slated to begin filming in March 2025 and is likely to release in the first half of 2026.

"Milan and writer Rajat Arora are currently fine-tuning the screenplay, after which they will present a final narration to Akshay. It is an action drama that sees him play a quirky cop, along the lines of his character in Rowdy Rathore [2012]. Milan has envisioned it as a masala entertainer, with Akshay’s character having a larger-than-life quality. At the same time, the film explores a social issue. The actor really loved the concept when it was presented to him, and has allotted the months of April and May for the shoot," a source told the portal.
