Akshay Kumar on Bhool Bhulaiyaa:
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan made a Hindi remake of the Malayalam masterpiece, Manichitrathazhu (1993), in 2007, titled "Bhool Bhulaiyaa." The film succeeded at the box office and earned a loyal fan following. Years later, the makers decided to create a sequel, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022), but it was without Akshay and Priyadarshan.

Kartik Aaryan starred in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2:
The second part of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise was led by Kartik Aaryan, with director Anees Bazmee helming the project. Many were hoping for Akshay Kumar's return to the franchise, but that did not happen. Subsequently, the third movie also did not feature Akshay Kumar. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was also led by Kartik with the same director and became a super hit at the box office.

As many have wondered why Akshay Kumar was not part of the second and third films in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, one of his fans had the opportunity to ask him this question during a chat with Pinkvilla. Responding to the question, Kumar confirmed that he was removed from the franchise.
A fan asked, "Sir, why were you not in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3?" Akshay replied, "Betaa, mujhe nikal diya tha." (Son, I was removed from it).
