Akshay Kumar starred in Kesari (2019) and is now coming with Kesari Chapter 2. During the trailer launch event of Kesari Chapter 2 in Delhi, the superstar confirmed the making of Kesari 3. Yes, you heard it right. Akshay has confirmed the development while speaking to the media at the event.

Akshay Kumar also revealed that the film will be based on the life of Sikh warrior Hari Singh Nalwa. Kesari was based on the famous Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897, while Kesari 2 is based on the courtroom battle of statesman C. Sankara Nair. Kesari 3 will explore the story of Hari Singh Nalwa, the commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj, the army of the Sikh Empire.

For the unversed, Nalwa is famous for his role in the conquests of Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Multan, Kashmir, Peshawar, and Jamrud. Hari Singh Nalwa's contributions greatly helped the frontier of the Sikh Empire extend beyond the Indus River right up to the mouth of the Khyber Pass. Kesari 3 will explore his glorious battle against Afghan invaders.

Talking about Kesari 2, the film stars Akshay Kumar as C. Sankara Nair, Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill, and R. Madhavan as the opponent, Adv. Neville McKinley. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is presented by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. Kesari Chapter 2 is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari and co-produced by Marijke de Souza, Somen Mishra, and Vedant Baali. It will be released on April 18, 2025.
