Akshay Kumar To Auction ‘Padman’ Cycle To Raise Money For Menstrual Hygiene

Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna, who have teamed up in the capacity of an actor and a producer for Padman, a film that revolves around menstrual hygiene, will also raise money for the same.

Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar in a joint venture decided to raise funds by auctioning the bicycle used by Akshay in the film and transferring the funds to an NGO called Population First. Taking to his Twitter page, Kumar announced, “Bid for this #Padman cycle featured in my movie on http://www.bidkartz.com and the proceedings go for supporting women empowerment to “Laadli – a girl child campaign by Population First.”

Padman’, which also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in prominent roles, is directed by R. Balki and is slated to release on February 9.
