Akshay: 'I hope the real Sachin Tichkule sees my film!'

Akshay Kumar and his reel life persona of Sachin Tichkule in 'Khatta Meetha' have been making tabloid headlines of late, for all the terrific and?terrible reasons too.

Few, though, are aware that Sachin Tichkule is based on a real life entity, a neighbour of Akshay's at suburban Mumbai during his struggling days in the industry.

Reportedly, Akki was supremely impressed by the manner of his Maharashtrian neighbour. And in a cinematic sweep decided to name his cine character after him!

States a source close to Akki, "Akshay was so impressed by the disciplined ways of Sachin Tichkule that he decided to name his screen character in 'Khatta Meetha' after him. The real life Sachin Tichkule was also instrumental in helping out Akshay as an actor, when he was just starting out. Hence Akshay thought that it would be a good tribute to pay to his former neighbour."

States Action Kumar in a tabloid quote, "I earnestly hope that the real life Sachin Tichkule watches 'Khatta Meetha' and appreciates it."
