Actor-producer Ajay Devgn, who will be next seen playing Maratha warrior Taanaji Malusare in upcoming film Taanaji, has started shooting for the film.
Ajay shared an image on his social media, in which he is seen performing the ‘mahurat pooja’. In the image, we can also see a bandage on his left arm, leading us to believe that he is shooting for the film despite being injured. Devgn also shared that the film is slated to release on November 22 next year.
For those who do not know this, Taanaji Malusare is most popularly known for the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670, which was fought between Marathas and Jai Singh I, who then happened to be a Mughal army chief. During the fierce skirmish, Taanaji was killed in battle, and Shivaji renamed the fort from Kondana to Sinhagad in his honor. Legend has it that Shivaji said, “Gad ala pan Sinha gela (We got the fort, but lost our lion) when he heard that Taanaji lost his life in the battle.
