Ajay Devgn Was Shocked and Surprised When Heard The True Story Of Syed Abdul Rahim; Here's What He Said

Ajay Devgn will be seen starring as Syed Abdul Rahim in the upcoming biographical sports drama, Maidaan. It's quite common in India not to know the history of football because it is not as popular as cricket in the nation. Maidaan is one such story based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who changed the image of sports in India.

Talking about the film and Syed Abdul Rahim, Ajay Devgn shared, "Apart from being a great story, I never knew that something like that had happened in our country and football had reached its peak, and only because of, I can’t say, one man but one man and these players who changed the course of football in the 50s and 60s."

"In fact, I was shocked and surprised that this would have happened, and there is a person like him, and that was the first thing that this story needs to be told," he added.

Besides Ajay Devgn, Maidaan also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla, the film is all set to release worldwide in theatres this Eid, on 10th April 2024.
