Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Welcomes Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is presently in the French Riviera to attend the Festival de Cannes, has stated that after electing Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of the nation, India is 'hopeful and inspired'.

In an interview to CNN IBN, at Cannes, when asked to comment on Narendra Modi's victory, the light-eyed beauty said, ''The proof is there in the mandate itself, India is definitely hopeful and inspired and we are looking forward to India shining. With all respect we welcome you Mr. Prime Minister ji and I heard in his speech today that this definitely is going to be a together onward journey and yes, one amongst the people of my country, we would love to take this journey and ride together.''

Aishwarya, who is the brand ambassador of L'Oreal Paris, is representing the brand at the annual film festival.
