Ahaan Panday's shelved debut with Ajay Devgn & YRF:
Ahaan Panday has made a smashing debut with Saiyaara, a solo romantic drama that has taken a huge opening at the box office. Interestingly, Ahaan was originally set to be launched by Yash Raj Films (YRF) alongside superstar Ajay Devgn in a high-octane action-adventure film. The untitled project was in development but was eventually shelved due to creative changes and scheduling issues.

However, YRF didn’t give up on launching Ahaan. Instead, producer Aditya Chopra teamed up with director Mohit Suri to craft a new path for the young actor. The result is Saiyaara — a musical romantic drama that not only introduces Ahaan as a leading man but also highlights Mohit Suri's comeback after a string of underwhelming films.
What’s remarkable is the kind of reception Saiyaara has received. On its opening day, the film collected around ₹20 crore nett — a figure that surpasses the opening day collections of Ajay Devgn’s big sequel Raid 2. For a debutant to match the numbers of an established star’s franchise film is no small feat. The footfalls of Saiyaara are much higher than Raid 2 (19 crore) due to offers, whereas the initial opening numbers are higher for Panday's romantic drama with fewer screens.

The film’s success is being seen as a strong signal of Ahaan Panday's promise and star potential. With a fresh look, a soulful soundtrack, and a love story that has connected with audiences, Saiyaara has given Ahaan a launch most newcomers dream of. It’s a win not just for Ahaan, but also for YRF and Mohit Suri, who trusted a new face with a big-stage solo release. Sometimes destiny plans something surprising for you that nobody's expecting.
