New Update
Aamir Khan took a good decade before he came behind the mike for Aati Kya Khandala <Ghulam>. Now his bhaanja Imran Khan has taken less than half that time to showcase his singing skills. For his upcoming film Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola, he has crooned a fun song which is titled Chaar Dina Ki.
"Yes, it is Imran's voice which is heard in the song. There is a situation in the film where Vishal Bhardwaj, who is the director as well as the composer of the film, wanted Imran's voice instead of bringing in a trained singer. He mentioned this to Imran and he was game for it as well", informs a source.
Interestingly, Imran has Pankaj Kapur for company in this Gulzar written song which has the duo getting into a fun-n-frolic mode while pulling a woman's leg.
"The final outcome has come out as something which is quite natural because as Matru and Mandola, one can clearly visualise Imran and Pankaj-ji getting into the characters”, the source adds, "What adds on to all the fun is the fact that both have sung this one in a Haryanvi accent, which goes with the film's setting."
While for Pankaj Kapur it was relatively easier to get into a different mode due to his decades of experience, Bombay boy Imran had to put quite some effort in getting the right pitch and tone. The one who missed out on all the fun was 'Bijlee' i.e. Anushka Sharma who doesn't get a place in the album to flex her vocal cords.
