Aditya Dhar denied Tamannaah Bhatia in Dhurandhar:
Before Dhurandhar’s release, its music and visual sequences were closely guarded creative decisions — including who would feature in its energetic dance number Shararat. According to choreographer Vijay Ganguly, Tamannaah Bhatia was originally considered for the track and even recommended during early planning stages.
In an interview with Filmygyan, Vijay revealed that he had Tamannaah “in his head” as the ideal performer for Shararat due to her strong track record with dance numbers and high-profile special appearances. However, director Aditya Dhar had a differing creative vision. He felt that casting a single, well-known face like Tamannaah might turn the sequence into what is colloquially referred to as an item song — a number that stands apart from the narrative and potentially distracts audiences from the film’s core story.
Dhar was reportedly clear that he did not want Shararat to become a standout spectacle that took attention away from Dhurandhar’s serious spy-drama arc. Instead, he opted for two dancers, Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, so that the performance would feel integrated into the wedding sequence within the story.

The song has caught eyes as Dharandhar continues its strong box-office run. Tamannaah had a dream run with an item number in Stree 2, followed by a forgettable number in Raid 2.
