On one hand, while Anurag Kashyap has been fuming about the deletion of a couple of scenes from his recent release Manmarziyaan, which showed Sikh characters smoking, Abhishek Bachchan, who starred in the film, seems to be fine with it.

Sharing his logic, Abhishek said, “Firstly, we need to see whether the complaint about a particular scene is genuine or not and whether removing such a scene will affect the narrative of the film. Each individual has a right to react and if people have felt bad over some scenes, then I feel there is no harm in deleting those scenes from the movie unless it affects the narrative of the film.”

He added, “Being a part of film fraternity, our main purpose is not to hurt anyone's sentiments. If there are some scenes and if people's opposition to scenes can affect the business of the film, then I guess exhibitors are right on their part because it is not an actor who stands to lose. It is the production people and exhibitors who have to suffer the loss in the end. Manmarziyaan is not a story about two people smoking… So, if those scenes have to be removed because it offends certain section of the society, I see no harm in doing it.”

Wonder what Anurag Kashyap has to say about this now…
