When it comes to Abhay Deol, one expects an honest conversation in the offing; a trait that the actor has managed for over the years. Meanwhile, it is also an opportune moment to acknowledge the actor for a wave that has now gathered steam after it all started with some of his middle of the road starrers. Between Socha Na Tha and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, different genres are being explored and there is good visibility that such films are getting.
Doesn't that make him all the more excited that something that he had in mind eight years back is now taking shape of a trend of sorts?
"Yeah, at that time when Socha Na Tha came followed by Dev D, there was not so much experimentation with content. You have to hunt and work for people to make such films. In the industry, every year there are more and more people coming and experimenting; I am happy to be part of such a move. I am happy to have been a part of Dev D and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye. Today's industry is much more courageous than ever before. Newer ideas are working," he reflects.
Still, even with multiple interesting (and never heard before) subjects floating around, Abhay is yet to sign on the dotted line for next film of his. Other than his own production One by Two, he is still contemplating between multiple other scripts that are lying at his place. While he is taking his time to pick & choose what works most for him, the tag of 'Mr. Exclusive' is staying by his side. Is it a boon or a bane?
"I think it is a boon," Abhay gives out a smile here, "Some people may say good things about this while some may not be that supportive. Of course, I am happy as long as people look at this approach of mine very positively. After all, Being Exclusive is a good thing naa."
Of course, as long as it suits you Abhay!
