'Aashiqui 2' Is Not The Sequel To 'Aashiqui'

Director Mohit Suri is going to start shooting for Aashiqui 2 next month with Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor. The filmmaker has stated that this film is not a sequel to the 1990 romantic film Aashiqui.

The film will be shot in Goa, Mumbai and Cape Town. The director has claimed that the only similarity between the two films is that both are romantic musicals.

The original Aashiqui was directed by Mahesh Bhatt, and starred Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. It was a huge hit and its songs became immensely popular.
