Aamir Khan's PK Script Changed:

Aamir Khan's PK was a huge blockbuster and also the first Bollywood movie to cross 300 crore nett in India and 700 crore mark at the worldwide box office. In a candid conversation with Variety portal, Aamir Khan revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes detail about the making of PK. The actor shared that the original script of the Rajkumar Hirani directorial was different and had to be modified after the release of Oh My God!.

Aamir admitted that despite PK becoming a massive blockbuster, he and director Rajkumar Hirani were not completely satisfied with the final film. According to him, Hirani had initially written a different version of the story, particularly the second half.

He explained that things changed when Oh My God!, starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, released before PK. The team felt that some thematic elements between the two films overlapped, even though the plots were very different.

“In the case of PK, which was a huge success, both Raju and I were not really fully happy with the film,” Aamir said. He added that while PK revolved around an alien and had a completely different storyline, the similarity in themes prompted Hirani to insist on changes.

The filmmaker was reportedly firm about reworking the second half, and the team eventually went ahead with the revisions. Aamir noted that before the film’s release, both he and Hirani had discussed their concerns but agreed that the final version was the best they could achieve at the time.

Fortunately for the makers, PK struck a strong chord with audiences and emerged as a major box office success, proving that the last-minute changes ultimately worked in the film’s favour. It actually became a much bigger hit than Oh My God! OMG.
