Aamir Khan about betting app:

In a surprising turn, Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has drawn criticism for endorsing the betting platform Dream11, despite his longstanding refusal to promote alcohol and tobacco products. The actor’s justification, however, has sparked debate. He recently appeared in an IPL Betting App ad, which also featured Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and many cricketers, and went viral online

Speaking in a recent interview with Zoom, Aamir addressed the contradiction, saying, “I have refused alcohol and tobacco. Recently, I did Dream11, so people asked me — you refused alcohol, tobacco, but you’re doing Dream11?” He then defended the endorsement by pointing to the quality of the ad’s concept: “The script for Dream11 was so good. I couldn’t say no to it.”

He further added, “I laughed so much after I read that ad. I was certain that I wanted to do it.” But what stood out was his casual dismissal of ethical concerns surrounding betting apps, stating, “As for the product, if it is illegal then ban it, then we won’t make any ads on it. And if it’s legal then let me do it too.”

The comments have left fans and critics divided. While some appreciate his honesty, others accuse the actor of setting a dangerous precedent by normalizing betting, especially among impressionable audiences. Interestingly, the question was asked by a fan.
