Azaad Box office collections:
Azaad, starring Aaman Devgan, Rasha Thadani, and Ajay Devgn, was released yesterday nationwide. The film had the advantage of the cinema day offer, as ticket rates dropped to Rs. 99, but it still wasn’t helped much.

Azaad collects 1.40 crore on Day 1:
Abhishek Kapoor's Azaad collected approximately 1.40 crore nett on Friday, which is considerably low for any film. These figures came after the cinema day offer, so one can imagine the second day's numbers already. The film will see lower footfalls as the ticket rates return to normal levels, and the response isn't particularly good at the moment. We can expect the opening weekend to be around Rs. 5 crore nett, as the word of mouth and critic reviews both seem mixed at this time.
Emergency Review: Kangana Ranaut's Explosive Political Drama
The film has a budget in the range of Rs. 40-50 crore (including promotions), but making profits will be difficult. As far as the early trend goes, it appears that the film will conclude its business below the Rs. 15 crore nett mark, resulting in a disaster verdict. Much of those numbers depend on Saturday and Sunday figures, as the weekdays are sure to drop below the 1 crore nett mark. Let's wait and see where this film goes, but frankly, there isn't much left to say after such a low start.
