Shah Rukh Khan rung in his 43 birthday yesterday at his residence, Mannat. It was an occasion for a double celebration as it saw the release of the first promos of his next, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi being directed by close friend Aditya Chopra.
After unveiling the first promos of his film, which had a bespectacled Shah Rukh singing a song, along with a glimpse of new find Anushka Sharma. Speaking about his role in the film, SRK reportedly told the media that it was about an ordinary man. In fact, the actor said that it was no longer special to be special, but it was special to be ordinary. His latest comments about breaking away from the Rahul/Raj Malhotra, rich NRI, loverboy image, has been prompted by his roles in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, where he will be playing two characters. The actor said that his obsession with 'being ordinary is special' will also reflect in his next film, Billoo Barber, which is being directed by Priyadarshan. This role will see SRK break away from his typical loverboy image as well. The actor said that he had based his characters on two participants from his TV reality show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Ho. He adopted their mannerisms for the two characters that he portrays in the Yash Raj film. Commenting on his co star, SRK said that she was excellent in the film. He summed it up by saying that it is an intimate sort of film, with few characters. Its tone is more in keeping with the Hrishikesh Mukherjee type of films, said the superstar. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a love story but not like a Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. It is more in keeping with SRK's age but he did promise that it was a feel good film.
